Arvindran Alaga

Dr Arvindran is the Head of the Respiratory Medicine Department of Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah and Head of Respiratory Services for Kedah State. He is an avid researcher and educator, having published many articles and is heavily involved in undergraduate and postgraduate medical training. He has been reviewing articles for many journals and has been appointed to the Editorial Board of Respiratory Endoscopy (official journal of Japanese Society of Respiratory Endoscopy) and also Advisory Board/ Associate Editor of Respirology Case Report Journal. Currently, he is the chair of the COI Committee of World Association of bronchology and Interventional pulmonology(wabip) and Council member of Asia Pacific of Interventional pulmonology alliance(apipa). He obtained his MBBS from Melaka Manipal Medical College, then his MRCP (UK), and completed his fellowship in Interventional Pulmonology (Japan) in 2020 and Respiratory Medicine (Malaysia). He is also the Honorary General Treasurer of Malaysian Medical Association and Deputy Chairman of MBK P&P. He is the 1st Malaysian to receive Harasawa Fellowship Award from Japan in 2020. He is also the recipient of many prestigious national and international awards/grants.
