Jin-Fu Xu, MD, PhD is a Professor, Doctoral Supervisor, and Chief Physician at Tongji University, where he also serves as President of Tongji Hospital and Director of the Institute of Respiratory Diseases. He is a leading expert in respiratory medicine and pulmonary infections, with a particular focus on bronchiectasis. Professor Xu is an Expert of the State Council Special Government Allowance and a Distinguished Young Scholar of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He has received the Outstanding Contribution Award from the Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission. He serves as Chair of the China Bronchiectasis Registry (BE-China), Chair of the Respiratory Disease Branch of the Shanghai Medical Association, and Associate Chair of the Respiratory Disease Branch of the Chinese Medical Association. He is also a Scientific Committee Member of the World Bronchiectasis Conference. Professor Xu is an Associate Chief Editor of Respir Res and an Editorial Board Member of Am J Respir Crit Care Med and Clin Microbiol Infect. He has published over 100 peer-reviewed articles in leading journals, including Lancet Respir Med, Lancet Digit Health, Nat Immunol, Sci Transl Med, Nat Commun, Am J Respir Crit Care Med, Eur Respir J.
