Muhammad Faiz Mohd Hisham is a Science Officer (Microbiology) currently based at the Centre for Communicable Disease and Epidemiology Research, Institute for Public Health (IPH). He holds a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), an Advanced Diploma in Medical Microbiology from the Institute for Medical Research (IMR), and a Master of Science in Public Health at IMU University. With a career beginning in 2008, he has transitioned from clinical microbiology in hospital settings to leading national-level health surveillance for the Ministry of Health Malaysia. His recent work covers a broad spectrum of public health priorities, ranging from Adolescent and Orang Asli Health to COVID-19 disease surveillance. As an emerging researcher, he has over 18 publications to his credit, ranging from peer-reviewed research papers to national surveillance technical reports. His primary research focus includes the epidemiology of Tuberculosis, public acceptance of vaccinations in Malaysia, and strategies for controlling emerging infectious diseases.
