Associate Professor Pang Yong Kek was a senior consultant in the Respiratory Division at the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre before retiring from this position in January this year. His research interests are diverse, encompassing lung infections, obstructive airway diseases, interstitial lung disease, and lung cancer. He has been actively involved in continuous medical education and has been invited to speak on various respiratory disorders at numerous scientific events, both nationwide and across the Asia Pacific region. Additionally, he is actively engaged in several professional societies, including the Malaysian Thoracic Society, where he serves as the immediate past president. He is also a board member of the Lung Foundation of Malaysia.
